The Agency, Resources, and Institutional Structures for Sanitation-Related Empowerment (ARISE) Scales

Overview

These scales were developed to measure subdomains of empowerment related to sanitation among women. Separate scales were developed for individual subdomains of resources, agency, and institutional structure, with questions based on a literature review, revised after cognitive testing, and rigorously validated after survey deployment in eight cities.
